Porsche launches new version of 911 model in India, price start at 1.42 crore

Porsche announced the launch of new version of 911 model with 12 percent more fuel efficiency over its previous models, price start from 1.42 crore (ex-showroom delhi) : Porsche, German luxury sports car maker has launched a new version of its 911 model in India. The new version of its 911 model has been priced between 1.42 crore and Rs. 2.66 crore.

Porsche aims to expands its presence in India by adding two more showroom in Chennai and Hyderabad. The new show room will soon be opened up in these two cities in coming months. Porsche has sold around 408 units in India last year. The company is looking for a steady growth in the country. 

“It is 8th generation of the 911 model and is 12 percent more fuel efficient than the previous models,” Porsche India director, Pawan Shetty Said. The latest version of 911 model is also available in coupe and cabriolet iterations, with entirely new turbocharged power units.

Commenting on the ban on diesel cars and SUVs with engines of 2,000 cc and above, Mr. Shetty said it would have little impact on the company as the model runs only on petrol.

The new 911 comes with improved technological features that is claimed to have improved the driving dynamics of the car. The top-of-the-line 911 Turbo S itself comes with optional Sport Chrono Package and for the first time all 911s will come with a mode switch on the steering wheel itself. This particular feature has been derived from the 918 Spyder, which alloys you to choose from four different driving modes – Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual. And for that additional grunt while overtaking, the car comes with a special ‘Sports Response Button’ that when pressed pre-conditions the drivetrain to offer maximum acceleration for 20 seconds.

Porsche’s portfolio of luxury sports cars in India includes the Cayman, Cayenne, Macan, Boxter, 911 and Panamera, which are priced in the range of Rs. 1 crore to Rs. 3 crore.
